immaculate conception

İngilizce - Türkçe

IMMACULATE CONCEPTION
The Immaculate Conception is a doctrine in the Catholic Church which states that Mary, the mother of Jesus, was conceived without original sin. This means that from the moment of her conception, she was preserved from the stain of original sin, which is believed to be passed down from Adam and Eve to all humanity.
The Immaculate Conception is often confused with the Virgin Birth, which refers to the conception of Jesus in Mary's womb without the involvement of a human father. However, the Immaculate Conception refers specifically to Mary's own conception, not to the conception of Jesus. The doctrine of the Immaculate Conception was officially defined by Pope Pius IX in 1854, although it had been widely believed and celebrated in the Church for centuries prior to that. It is an important dogma of the Catholic faith and is celebrated as a feast day on December 8th.
